Sparkles of Gwinnett and Chick-fil-a Spirit Nights

Kaitlyn and some of her supporters

On April 5th, we had our skate night at Sparkles of Gwinnett to help add to Kaitlyn's tuition.  The goal was to have 100 people that came in to support Hull Middle, Twin Rivers, or P2P.  I believe we only got about 20.  Thank you to all that were able to come out and support her.  Fun was had by all.

On April 12, we had our Chick-fil-a spirit night.  Kaitlyn passed out flyers to many friends at school and church.  She even enlisted her sister Samantha to help with passing them out too.  I FB and she emailed them as well.  The food was good and the many supporters were awesome.  Her goal was to get 75 families to sign in and eat.  She had many show up but only met 1/3 of the goal.  We had friends eating with us and facebooking and calling to help her get the rest of the way there.  She is very appreciative for everyone that took time out and came to eat dinner and support her.  She even had a few customers that came over to ask her what she was doing.  She explained her program and they signed her sheet as well.  She even had one donate to her.  They wished her luck as well.

Although she was disappointed in meeting the goals on these two fundraisers, she has learned that somethings work and others don't but to pick yourself back up and try again.  She is waiting to hear about her essay she turned in and is hopeful.  Also, she will be hosting a Parents Night Out in a few weeks at our home and hopes everyone will need a babysitter for a few hours that night.  She plans on having planned activities and snacks.
